今回の第一弾は、尾道ホテルのレビューです。
私の旅の好みは「暮らすように旅する」
その土地に住んでいるかのような気分になる旅行が好きです。
今回の宿「くじら別館」はまさにぴったりの宿でした。

特徴
オーナーは映画監督の森ガキ侑大監督。
『おじいちゃん、死んじゃったって』や
『さんかく窓の外側は夜』などを手掛けています。
室内は監督の作品のポスターがあちこちにセンス良く飾ってあります。
そして、家の中央には森ガキ監督の直筆のメモが書き込まれている台本を
自由に見ることができます。
びっしりと書き込まれたメモを見ると、
監督の映画に対する情熱が垣間見れました。
ちなみにこの宿の管理は「シネマ尾道」。
「映画の街」尾道にふさわしく、レトロなこの映画館では、
こだわりの映画が上映されています。

wi-fi 完備、パジャマ（上下セパレート）、タオル、歯ブラシ、
調理器具・食器（６セット）、シャンプー・コンディショナー・ボディソープ
アメニティは一つ一つが上質のものばかり、特にパジャマは
上下セパレートタイプで伸びもよく、着心地もとてもよかった。
タオルは今治タオルで肌触り抜群！
そしてシャンプー類はPROVINSCIA。
特にシャワージェルはアーモンドの香りで癒されました。
お風呂は追い炊き＋保温機能有でいつまでもポカポカ。
バスソルトを入れてリラックスできる清潔な空間です。
設備
古民家をリノベした雰囲気は抜群。ぐるりと取り囲むような縁側からは
美しい庭も眺めることができます。
一階はダイニング（テーブル有）、リビング（こたつ・テレビ）、
キッチン、お風呂、トイレ（２か所）
2階は寝室。1階のリビングと2階の寝室に各3枚ずつ計6組の布団を敷けます。
（レトロな机がかわいい～、中には映画の資料が入っていました）
この敷布団も質がいい。分厚く適度な反発で、ぐっすり眠れました。
古民家で夜は寒いかと心配しましたが、羽毛布団一枚で十分快適でした。
エアコンは1階と2階にそれぞれ1機ずつ設置されています。
高台に建っているため、キッチンを活用して皆で料理をしても良いかもしれません。
大正時代から受け継がれた、歴史ある古民家で、尾道の文化を感じながら
ゆっくりと過ごしてみませんか？

A rental villa in Onomichi : Kujira Bekkan
Are you interested in staying at a Japanese traditional house?
If so, I strongly recommend a rental villa in Onomichi, Hiroshima. Its name is “Kujira Bekkan.”
It is about 100 years old. It has been well renovated and owned by Yukihiro Morigaki, Japanese movie director.
In Japanese traditional wooden house, you will be immersed in the old Japanese days.

features
Yukihiro Morigaki, the owner of this house, is well known by his movies, ”Goodbye, Grandpa” and “The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window”.
Each room is decorated by his movies’ posters.
Also, you can freely look on the movie scripts.
Many notes are written in them by Mr. Morigaki.
Looking at them, I could directly feel the director’s passion for the movies.
By the way, this house is managed by “Cinema Onomichi.”
It is one of the symbol of Onomichi because Onomichi is called the movie town.
We can see select movie and feel nostalgic atmosphere in the theater.

Travel amenities
The house come with basic toiletries, free room wi-fi, pajamas, kitchenware and tableware (for 6 people)
The bath towels are from Imabari which is famous for the production of silky towels.
Shampoo and body soap are PROVINSCIA which are used at many Japanese famous hotels such as hotels in Yufuin.
Kujira Bekkan introduced this public bath on its twitter.

Although it has been used since Taisho-era(around 1910s), the facility is not too old.
It is well renovated and very comfortable to stay in.
This is the the part of corridor which goes around the house. From here, you can see beautiful Japanese style garden.
Once you lie on the Japanese style floor, Tatami, the scent of grass will come up.
After arriving at the house, why don’t you drink some green tea and have tea cakes. All of them are made in Onomichi.
I highly recommend the Japanese traditional house, Kujira Bekkan. It reminds me of the modern period in Japan. I’m sure you’ll feel relaxed and comfortable while your stay.
